FRONT COMPETITION// FIRST place
In 2019 I competed in the FRONT competition held at Solent University. As a team of two we had to create a character based off of the theme 'Dark Materials'. We took part in The Radical Body category which involved creating a concept, sculpting and casting our own prosthetic flat moulds. We then had to work to a time limit of 4 hours to create our overall character and design. Together we decided to base our character off of fear as this is a dark subject. A big fear we shared was Arachnophobia (the fear of spiders) so we wanted to create a Spider Queen who is part Spider and part Human, who feasts off of peoples fear. Here you can see the terrifying design which incorporates the spiders many eyes and and deathly venomous fangs. So proud to say that our great team work and determination managed to win us 1st place!
This video was created by Solent University to showcase the FRONT Competition. It includes an interview with me and my team mate on winning 1st place in the Radical Body category and also shows the progression of the application of our character design.
ANONSTYLE Film Awards// Best Performance
For this project we had to work in small groups to create and produce our own 90 second films based off of a small bit of monologue. My groups monologue was from 'Cruel Intentions'. We had to work together and plan everything, from make-up and hair to location and filming equipment used. This was long process which took a lot of hard work. Our film was then shown at the ANONSTYLE Film Awards and won Best Performance. This award was given to the group who had given the 'best performance' from instructing the model to developing the films story.
